No matter the time of year, there is plenty to see at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. The AWCC is located in beautiful Portage Valley, Alaska, surrounded by the breathtaking Chugach Mountain Range and Turnagain Arm Inlet. We offer over 200 acres of animal enclosures that guests can tour via our 1.5-mile loop to see our rescued Alaskan wildlife. The loop is accessible by foot or by car, making it easy for anyone.

While you’re here, be sure to check out our Be Wild Gift Shop. Shopping for even the pickiest person in your family will be a breeze with wide range of items we have to choose from. All proceeds go towards supporting the work of Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.

When you’re finished shopping, head aside for a photo-op with our wood bison selfie-station. It’s the perfect time to get a winter wonderland photo with family and friends. Visiting in the summer? Swing by the Forget-Me-Knot food truck to refuel before heading back out to see more wildlife.

The AWCC is a nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, research, education and quality animal care. We provide spacious enclosures and a permanent home for all of the orphaned or injured animals that are brought to us. We hope you all get to come out and see us soon and that you and your family have fun with our new coloring map!
