Back by popular demand, AWCC is hosting our Animal Enrichment Workshops again!

Do you want to help create toys to enrich our animals’ lives? And learn about our featured animal? Then you would love AWCC’s newest event series: Animal Enrichment Day! The first Sunday of every month, AWCC is holding a volunteer animal enrichment building workshop located at the Center (in Bison Hall). The three-hour workshop will concentrate on constructing a particular type of toy and learning about our resident animals from our expert animal care staff.

Just like people, animals need toys … especially when living in human care. The enrichment items serve several purposes – they engage, stimulate and entertain the animals. And on the human side – they provide our participants with opportunities to create these useful enrichment items for their favorite animals.

If you are interested and sign up in advance, we will waive your entrance fee (FREE admission), but space is limited. Click here to RSVP for the event.

Military Mondays

Dec 2 2018 – Apr 1 2019 all-day

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center thanks the men and women of the Armed Forces. To show our appreciation, we are offering free admission on the first Monday of each month December through April to all active duty and retired military personnel and their dependents.

Dates: December 3, January 7, February 4, March 4, and April 1

*Must present proof military service, with ID or pay stud at time of purchase.
