The giant veggie feeding to our resident bears is happening today! We will be feeding Kobuk and the adult bears the colossal vegetables from the Alaska State Fair. Kobuk’s feeding will be at 1:30 pm and the adult bears will be at 3:30 pm.

Every year at the Alaska State Fair, one of the main attractions is the giant prized vegetables with record-breaking pumpkins, giant cabbage, and impressive squash. But as the vendors break down their booths and the long summer hours dwindle, what happens to all the giant vegetables?

The vegetables head south of Anchorage to attract a different crowd and take the stage once more! The Alaska State Fair generously donates the vegetables to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where they will shine for the second time.

Arrive early to get a good viewing spot. Event is free with admission and will occur rain or shine.

Discover the WILD of Alaska and come meet the locals! Walk on the Wild Side Tours are available year-round and include an animal encounter. Summer Moose Encounters & Bear Encounters are available for online booking. Book early to ensure your spot!
