COVID-19 Update

We’d like to take a moment to update our followers about our operations and what we are doing to protect our visitors and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are currently open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Guests will have one hour to enjoy the center if arriving at 5pm. AWCC is an outdoor facility and an excellent option for something to do while social distancing.

  • Until May 31st, we’re offering a special rate of $25 for a car load of up to 5 people.
  • We encourage guests to buy admission tickets online.
  • Guests can come do a self-tour in their own vehicles or enjoy some fresh Alaska air as they walk the 1.5-mile loop around our facility.
    • Please respect other guests and follow the 6 ft social distancing guidelines while visiting the center.
  • Free Daily Education Programs and Tours are tentatively scheduled to begin June 1, 2020.
  • The Be Wild Gift Shop is tentatively scheduled to reopen on June 1, 2020.
    • In the meantime, we encourage guests to visit our online store.
    • Face masks are required to be worn while shopping in the Be Wild Gift Shop. Guests must provide their own face mask.
  • The Forget-Me-Not Foods food truck is on site and serving lunch items on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. They will also be open on Memorial Day from 10:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m.
  • All AWCC events have been canceled.

AWCC takes your health, the health of our staff and our resident animals very seriously. We have implemented procedures to increase sanitation throughout the facility and will continue to monitor the situation and keep you apprised if additional measures are needed.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns by sending us a message or emailing us at info@alaskawildlife.org.
