Happy (almost) Birthday, America!

Whether it’s the 4th of July or the 4th of October, we love celebrating our American and Alaskan pride!

For the holiday, we will be open our regular hours: from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the last car coming in at 7 p.m. Do you have the day off and want to spend some time with your family? Come on by! You’ll still have the perfect amount of time to grill up some hamburgers and corn for dinner.

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center will also be participating in Girdwood’s Forest Fair Parade on July 8th! There will be booths, food, activities, a beer garden, live music and the parade. We will have members of our animal care staff there along with a few of our “Alaska Bears on Parade”, by artists Dawn Gerety and Scott Thompson. After the parade will be the perfect time to ask any of our animal care staff questions about AWCC or our animals!

Otherwise, we want to wish everyone a happy (and safe) holiday weekend. Enjoy!

Discover the WILD of Alaska and come meet the locals! Walk on the Wild Side Tours are available year-round and include an animal encounter. Summer Moose Encounters & Bear Encounters are available for online booking. Book early to ensure your spot!
