Sitka Black-Tailed Deer

The Sitka Black-tailed deer are the friendliest animals at AWCC!  Solo, our oldest male, was orphaned in the summer of 2012 and now has offspring that are just as curious as he was at a young age. Solstice, Gram, and Miles are Solo’s offspring, with Solstice being born in 2014 and Gram and Miles born in 2015.

Kat and Mai are two female orphaned Sitka Black-tailed deer that arrived in 2016 at AWCC and are being cared for by our animal care staff. Kat and Mai are named after the Katmai National Park near King Salmon, Alaska, in honor of the National Park 100-year celebration.
