Free Daily WINTER Educational Programs are offered September 16 through May 14. Due to COVID-19 concerns, face masks are required to be worn by all guests participating in our education programs and tours. Guests must provide their own face mask. 

*Daily rotating program – AWCC Naturalists select one of our many animal species to discuss. Check the daily program board upon arrival.

Weekly Summer Reading Program

We are happy to announce that the AWCC Education Department will be hosting FREE weekly summer readings geared towards Pre-K through Grade 3 Students! We invite you to come and enjoy hearing stories in person at the sanctuary, or via Facebook Live. Be sure to follow AWCC on Facebook to join the readings remotely.

We will choose a different animal to highlight and read near each week!

The Weekly Summer Reading Program is offered every Monday, June 22 through August 10. Due to COVID-19 concerns, face masks are required if attending a reading in person, and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Free Animal Programs

Free to all visitors, the animal programs listed to the left are a fun and in-depth way for visitors to learn about our resident animals. Though subject to change, most programs happen daily and are hosted by animal care staff outside of the animal’s designated enclosure. Upon your arrival, check on the whiteboard outside of the Be Wild Gift Shop for specific times and locations.

Audio Tour

Want to have your own personal tour guide around Alaska and AWCC? Download The Alaska App! Not only does this application offers the chance to plan your Alaska vacation in one spot, but it also provides audio and physical guides to the AWCC. Recommendations of nearby travel locations are also available. It is the perfect chance to plan from home while being prepared on the road. To download, select the logo below, and click “download” in the app store.

To find the section about the AWCC once you’ve downloaded the app, go to the “Guidebook” on the home page. From there, select “Sights and Attractions” then “Wildlife Parks”. AWCC is the 3rd option down. Here you will find directions, photographs, prices, reviews, weather, guidebooks and more!
