Moose
Semour Jr.
Seymour Jr. is the youngest moose who was orphaned when his mother was killed at a construction site in Anchorage. He arrived at AWCC in mid June 2006 when he was about 3-4 weeks old.
Chimo
Chimo arrived at the center when he was just three to four days old. He has a hoof deformity that requires his hooves to be trimmed regularly. This debilitating condition is also found in wild moose although when untreated, survival rates are poor.
Jack
Jack arrived at the center as a 3 day old moose with bite marks on his hind end, and a broken leg, and a 20% chance of survival. Vanessa, one of our fantastic interns took it upon herself to nurse Jack back to health. Because of her hard work, Jack is approaching 3 years old, and is a happy, healthy addition to the center.
