When you come upon what you think is an orphaned or abandoned animal in the wild, you should not pick it up or take it home with you.  You should call the Alaska Department of Fish & Game or the Alaska State Troopers Wildlife Division.  Only ADF&G or the Wildlife Troopers are authorized to pick up or take orphaned wildlife.

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is not allowed to receive an orphaned animal straight from the hands of the public.

Please call ADF&G at (907) 267-2185 or (907) 267-2811 or your local Alaska State Trooper Office.

Discover the WILD of Alaska and come meet the locals! Walk on the Wild Side Tours are available year-round and include an animal encounter. Summer Moose Encounters & Bear Encounters are available for online booking. Book early to ensure your spot!
