What is Bison Hall?
Bison Hall is AWCC’s education building which has been 6 years in the making! This 6,000 square foot structure is geared toward improving visitor education and involvement and is the cornerstone for future improvements. Bison Hall includes classroom, event space, and offices for management. There will be additional space for food service added in the future.
More than 200,000 people visit AWCC each year, and Bison Hall is an incredible addition to each and every visitor for education programs, events, or just to come in out of the weather. Bison Hall is continuing the conservation and educational efforts and mission AWCC was founded upon.
Bison Hall provides the education department with its first-ever dedicated home! The main floor features a large, multipurpose program hall complete with a separate classroom. This allows for on-site, year-round classroom programs and an animal lecture hall out of the elements. It provides the education department space and technology needed to further develop innovative, educational programs which deliver high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum. An online curriculum and lesson plans have already been created, and educators can find them here. The education department and its programs are central to our mission.
Finally, Bison Hall provides additional offices for management of the center. Building new offices gives management more space, privacy and opportunities to grow the team.
Rentals of the facility will also be available! Whether it’s a field trip, scouting trip, office meeting, wedding, or family party, the entire facility can be rented out! Learn more about rental opportunities here and learn about planning a field trip here!
