Hooty & Snappy, both males, are both victims of gunshot-wounds and are unable to fly. They were found about one week apart in the Campbell Creek area of Anchorage in 1999 with severe wing injuries.
Northern Hawk Owl
Summer 2014, a motorist outside of Tok, AK accidentally clipped a small Northern Hawk Owl on the highway. After discovering that the owl was still alive, concerned citizen quickly sprung into action. After consulting with the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage, it was obvious the owl required the specialized care Bird TLC is known for providing. The last obstacle was transportation. Following the purchase of a bus token, the hawk owl received its unique name, Bustoken. A new mew is being built for Bustoken by Wildlife Center staff and he is currently off exhibit.
