Sitka Black-Tailed Deer
The deer are the friendliest animals at AWCC and were all orphaned as young fawns. Solo was orphaned in the summer of 2012 and now has offspring that are just as curios as Solo was. Solstice, Gram and Miles are Solo’s offspring, Solstice was born in 2014 and Gram and Miles were born in 2015.
Kat and Mai, are two female orphaned black-tailed sitka deer that arrived in 2016 to AWCC and are being cared for by our animal care staff. Kat and Mai are named after the Katmai National Park near King Salmon, Alaska in honor of their 100 year celebration.
